Tazir came back from the bathroom and stopped, staring down at the beautiful woman curled up on the bed. The sheet barely covered her and that only made the image more alluring. With a sigh, he slipped under the covers and pulled her against his side. He felt her trying to wake up again, but he rubbed her back, soothing her back to sleep.
âNeed to tell you something,â she mumbled.
Tazir stared up at the ceiling, one hand behind his head while the other cradled Brielle against his side. Today clarified what he wanted in life. Brielle. Thatâs it. He wanted her. Tazir knew that he couldnât give up his position. That was out of the question. Abdicating his royal duties would create anarchy and chaos, not just in his country, but in the entire region.
But he could create a position for Brielle in his government. Five years ago, heâd started thinking of Brielle in terms of forever. Of marriage and children and love.
His current plan to work her out of his system was better. It was more sensible. If Brielle was his mistress, he could make love to her until heâd figured out what was so alluring about her. Yes, a mistress was a good solution.
And that was what heâd needed to discuss with her. He needed to learn what objections she might have to becoming his mistress. Once he knew what they were, he could eliminate them and find solutions to her objections.
Because after today, he knew he couldnât walk away from Brielle again. Sheâd said that Paul was no longer in her life.
No, that wasnât quite true. Sheâd said he wasnât here. Did that mean sheâd married him and was just here on vacation by herself? Or was Paul coming in a few days?
Damn it, he should have gotten his security team to find out.
But then again, he looked down at the woman fast asleep in his arms, one hand resting possessively on his chest, he knew that he wanted to hear it from her. He needed to see her eyes when she spoke of Paul, to determine if she might still have feelings for him. Brielle and Paul had been engaged, after all. So even if she hadnât married him, Tazir knew that she might still harbor feelings for the ass.
Damn it, he should have thought of that before! Even as he pulled Brielle closer, he wanted to hunt Paul down and pound him to a pulp! Five years ago, heâd hated the thought of any other man touching Brielle. Finding her again, all of those possessive feelings reared up again, making him feel strange andâ¦jealous. He hated being jealous!
So, if he didnât want anyone else touching Brielle, then perhaps it was time for him to do something about it! Instead of walking away from her this time, maybe he shouldâ¦?
He worked through every detail, problem and obstacle he could think of. When he had a solid plan laid out, he closed his eyes, pulled Brielle closer, and fell asleep.
